There is just three months to go until the first UK TV region loses its analogue signal to digital and the latest uSwitch.com poll shows that more than 7 out of 10 adults are still in the dark about when their region will switch to digital. On 17th October, Whitehaven and the surrounding region will lose their analogue TV signal, leaving those without a digital TV receiver with just the radio for company!
A survey from independent online comparison and switching service, uSwitch.com, reveals 33 million Brits are still unaware of when their TV region will 'go digital'. 9 out of 10 adults now have digital TV in their home, yet....
- Just a quarter of adults (27%) know when their region will switch to digital
- Over 27 million believe that the officials have not done enough to keep people informed of the switchover
- Only 1 in 5 are aware of all the ways they can receive a digital TV signal
- 12 million - over a quarter of the population - wrongly believe that they may need to buy a new TV set for the switchover
- 25 million TV sets are yet to 'go digital', at a national switchover cost of £2.2 billion
