Marco Pierre White Launches New 'Green Pan'
Fiery Hell's Kitchen star Marco Pierre White has revealed a gentler side by launching a new range of eco-friendly saucepans in conjunction with Russell Hobbs.
The pans, dubbed the Green Pan, are made with a new non-stick coating called Thermolon, which does not contain Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTFE), the traditional material used in non-stick pans. Better known by the trade name Teflon, PTFE was first used to coat non-stick pans on the 1940s.
Thermolon, according to it's inventors, is a hybrid polymer nano-composite that contains no toxins and has been tested and certified to be 100% safe. It is also environmentally friendly, requiring half the energy required to coat PTFE based pans.
It has been suggested that chemicals used in PTFE can be poisonous to humans.1
The Marco Pierre White Green Pan Range has a high heat resistance of up to 450°C, quick and even heat distribution, are oven safe and have a lifetime guarantee. The pans are sold as a five piece set consisting of:-
- 14 cm milk pan in white with cast handle
- 16 cm pan in white with metal lid and cast handle
- 18 cm pan in white with metal lid and cast handle
- 20 cm pan with lid and cast handles
- 24 cm frying pan with cast handle
Available in White and Slate Grey, the Marco Pierre White Green Pan Set is available at Amazon.co.uk and Robert Dyas.
